The Indian Association Sharjah began in 1979 with a meaningful vision: to spread the message of universal brotherhood encapsulated in the Sanskrit phrase, "Loka samastha sukhino bhavanthu," which means wishing well-being for everyone. This spirit of togetherness and goodwill aimed to foster Indo-Arab friendship, offer education and cultural support for Indian children, and extend a helping hand through charity to community members in need.
Starting with modest beginnings, the association faced initial hesitations and limited interest in membership. However, through perseverance, it has evolved into a highly valued institution. Today, it's a sought-after organization for thousands of Indians, offering a wide range of social, cultural, educational, recreational, and relief activities to support and enrich the community.
