Welcome to the Early Intervention Center, the primary gateway for children aged one day to five years, catering to those with disabilities, developmental delays, or at risk of such conditions. Established in 1992, operationalized in October 1993, and officially inaugurated on November 26, 1994, our pioneering center under Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services offers tailored programs benefiting both children and families. Our center delivers a spectrum of individualized services designed to address the unique needs and priorities of each child and their family. Through early intervention, we aim to bolster parental confidence, competence, and support while empowering children to flourish by honing their skills. Our goal is to facilitate their seamless integration into society, ensuring enhanced opportunities for inclusion and success.
Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services began its journey in 1979 under the Arab Family Organization in the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula. The Government of Sharjah officially recognized its efforts through Emiri Decree No. 6/1981. Originally a voluntary non-governmental organization, it focused on helping people with disabilities through education, training, and rehabilitation in the country.
In 1995, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, declared through Amiri Decree No. 4 of 1995 that the city would become an independent civil institution. This move aimed to empower individuals with disabilities by granting them legal rights and the ability to pursue their goals independently. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has continuously supported the city, emphasizing the significance of volunteer work in social development and the importance of providing education, training, and rehabilitation services for people with disabilities.
Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, operating under the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, focuses on empowering, training, educating, rehabilitating, and employing people with disabilities of various ages and nationalities in the UAE. It also extends social, cultural, and awareness services not only to individuals with disabilities but also to society as a whole.
